about
This dreamy lofi ballad is crammed full of hooks and characterful vocals, with a warped 80’s romantic vibe at its core. Wobbling synthetic textures held down by the classic Trunky Juno thumping Electric Bass dominates ‘Patrick Swayze’ throughout, building beautifully towards a chorus which bursts from the speakers in a distorted cacophony of euphoric proportions.
lyrics
I’ve had that same dream again,
Where I’m Patrick Swayze,
And I’m watching you missing me.
You’ve found a good deputy,
But I just won’t ignore,
That it looked like you loved him more.
And gone are those days when I'd wish you away.
Now I want to break free, and I wake just to see,
That my bath waters cold, and I’m starting to feel old.
Here comes that same dream again,
Where I’m Patrick Swayze,
And I want you to dance with me.
But I’m cursing these two left feet,
As you take to the sky,
On the arms of some other guy.
And gone are those days when I'd wish you away.
Now I want to break free, and I wake just to see,
That my bath waters cold, and I’m starting to feel old.
Your high school sweetheart, she’s doing fine.
Best friends with their pretty sweet lives.
This corner seems a cosy place to hide.
I’ll be up beside you on the floor.
If I only could be strong when I need to try,
Harder just when times, not on my side.
And gone are those days when I'd wish you away.
Now I want to break free, and I wake just to see,
That my bath waters cold, and I'm starting to feel old.
The times that you cried weren’t the times of your life,
Now I want to break free, so I wake just to see,
That your loves all I’ve known,
And I’m scared I might die alone.
I’ve had that same dream again,
Where it’s you and it’s me,
And there’s no need to worry.

own sphere of off-kilter artistry. Known for his masterful lyricism, warped sounds and bold ideations, the Durham native brings a spritely disposition to the alternative music scene, twisting the mundane into something entertaining....more
